Josip Pupačić: The Merciful River

In the year when we mark four full decades since the untimely and tragic death of Josip Pupačić, two new editions of his literary legacy stored in the Institute for the History of Croatian Literature, Theater and Music HAZU were published. In addition to Collected Poems in 2002, the author's unfinished anthology of poems about the sea entitled I gledam more... was published in 2005, and in this year a series of autobiographical texts entitled My Life. This, the fourth edition, under the title Milosrdna rijeka brings three radio dramas and one film script. Only one of them, the radio drama Igra, premiered on the First Program of Radio-Zagreb at the time, directed by Matija Koletić (mark DS - 464, 22. XII), and then published in Nikola Vončina's book The Age of the Circlers. Chronicle of Croatian radio drama from 1964 - 1968, published by Croatian Radio Television in 2006. The other two radio dramas Witnesses and Merciful River, as well as the film script Walled, are being published for the first time.
