Summary
Christopher Reich: The Rules of Deception
Dr. Jonathan Ransom, a world-renowned mountaineer and MSF surgeon, is climbing the Swiss Alps with his beautiful wife Emma, when they are surprised by a snowstorm. As they try to escape the storm, Emma falls to her death in a precipice.
Twenty-four hours later, Jonathan receives an envelope containing two railway wardrobe receipts in his wife's name. He goes to pick up the things left behind in a rather remote town and gets into a fight to the death to get hold of them... learning later that he killed one and seriously wounded another member of the Swiss police! But, more than that, he is affected by the knowledge of the woman's astonishing deception, which he had no idea about.
Becoming suddenly the object of a manhunt and the target of an experienced killer, Jonathan is forced to flee - and the only chance to survive lies in the resolution of the devastating truth about his wife's secret life and the terrible conspiracy that threatens to bring the world to the brink of destruction. Step by step, he is drawn deeper and deeper into a world of spies, high-tech weapons and international terrorism - a world where no one is who they say they are and where the end always justifies the means.
