Summary
Die Illyrischen Provinzen und ihre Einwohner
The Illyrian provinces were an autonomous province of France during the First French Empire, which existed under Napoleon's rule from 1809 to 1814. The region included today's Croatia, Slovenia, Gorica and parts of Austria. The capital was Ljubljana near Slovenia. It consisted of six departments, which made it a relatively large part of France at the time. The parts of Croatia are divided into civilian and military Croatia. Given that they are part of a large part of the Empire, the author felt the duty and desire to write a work that would evoke the Illyrian landscape.
