Summary
Terry Pratchett: The Sniff
It's a well-known truth that any vacationing policeman will barely open his suitcase before running into the first corpse.
Sam Vimes, the commander of the Ankh-Morpork city guard, naively goes on a pleasant holiday in the countryside, but when it comes to Vimes, even a corpse in the closet is not enough. No, the corpses are only piling up - and there is another eternal crime, more terrible than murder.
It is not Vimes's jurisdiction, nor is it his specialty, and he is not alone; he has no idea what to do, and he doesn't even have a bacon sandwich. What he does have, however, is cunning. And if the crime has already been committed, then there must be a solution, there must be a chase and there must be a punishment.
They say that in the end all sins are forgiven.
However, it is not quite so...
