Summary
Dimitrije Popović: Death of Danilo Kiš
Dimitrije Popović has long been known to the wider public as one of the most excellent, world-renowned painters from this area. Lately, along with the brush, the pen is used more and more; his essay and narrative titles were noticed.
In his new narrative adventure, already the seventh book he has written, Dimitrije presents us with a collection of fourteen short prose pieces framed in the most diverse of themes. It is not difficult to draw a parallel between them and the author's artistic work: in both cases, they are characterized by artisanal sovereignty and a preference for unusual, detailed motifs and narratives, as well as a ubiquitous deviation towards some more difficult-to-reach spheres - whether it is about surrealistic procedures treated with everyday phenomena and states of consciousness, or invoking transcendence.
Although largely fictional, this ensemble of extremely sensitive protagonists is also enriched with autobiographical; this is probably best evidenced by the title prose. The aesthetic effect is certainly not absent.
