Summary
Philip K. Dick: A Redundant Report
Imagine a future where there is almost no crime and murder is considered a phenomenon of the past? Thanks to the predictions of the three precognitives (beings capable of seeing one of the possible futures), the police deprive potential criminals of their freedom before they can carry out their intended crime. But what if their reports are inaccurate or, worse, misunderstood? Weighing between social order, the myth of security, and personal freedom, Philip K. Dick wrote one of his most interesting meditations on one of his already well-known themes. We can certainly recall Spielberg's eponymous film adaptation of this novella, which recorded a record number of viewers in the year it was created, as well as all the film adaptations of Dick's works several decades ago.
