Psychodermatology is a scientific discipline that is clinically and research focused on biological, psychological-psychiatric and social factors in dermatological disorders. This book is intended to help identify and understand the various causative factors that may underlie manifest skin disease. In addition to experts who work in the field of skin diseases (dermatologists, nurses in dermatovenerology departments), the book is intended for a wide range of experts who deal with the treatment of dermatological and psychiatric patients, such as psychologists and psychiatrists and general and family medicine doctors. The influence of biological, psychological and social factors (bio-psychosocial approach) in dermatology is presented in detail. Experts who deal with the health and general life problems of people with skin diseases are offered a new framework for considering various causative factors, diagnostics based on modern ICD-10 and DSM-IV criteria, and simultaneous treatment with standard dermatological therapy, modern psychopharmacotherapy and psychotherapy.
