A richly illustrated monograph on the development and peculiarities of Croatian cities, which are described in accordance with the chronology of their creation. On about three hundred pages, the historical development of one hundred and twenty-eight Croatian settlements with city status is listed, from Greek and Roman, through the Middle Ages to the most numerous modern cities. The introductory texts refer to the understanding of the city in the past and today, as well as the development of the settlement network from the first human settlements to urban regions on the soil of today's Croatia.
