On the occasion of marking the anniversary of the city in 1913, a monograph, a gold print with a description of the history of the city of Zagreb and the most famous paintings by Croatian artists, was published by the municipality of slob-i kr-capital city of Zagreb. The monograph "Free and Christian capital Zagreb", published in 1913 with reproductions of the works of famous Croatian artists and an introductory text by the historian and writer Vjekoslav Klaić. Flipping through the monograph, it's hard to escape the impression that we've embarked on a colorful journey in a time machine. Works by Vlaha Bukovac, Oton Iveković, Menci Cl. Crnčić, Branko Šenoa, Ferda Kovačević and other important artists of that time bring a picture of Zagreb from the end of the 19th and beginning of the 20th century: its motives, people, the atmosphere that ruled the city before the events that marked our most recent history. So different from today's hustle and bustle, and yet so much the same - proof that Zagreb managed to preserve something authentic and its own through all the changes of time. Hardcover, dim 24cm x 32 cm. The condition of the book is very good, it is possible to use all 23 pictures, which are on a special embossed gray collage paper.
