Summary
Josipa Bašić: Theories of prevention: Prevention of behavioral disorders and risky behaviors of children and young people
THEORIES OF PREVENTION - prevention of behavioral disorders and risky behaviors of children and young people Theories of prevention: prevention of behavioral disorders and risky behaviors of children and young people is a university textbook intended for teaching several prevention courses at the study of social pedagogy at the Faculty of Education and Rehabilitation, University of Zagreb. However, the book is also intended for students of other social, humanistic and biomedical sciences as a basis or supplement to course contents that are most closely related to the prevention of behavioral disorders and risky behaviors of children and young people. The author Josipa Bašić wrote the book as a logical continuation of many years of scientific and teaching experience and persistent and innovative investment in the Theory of Prevention course and other associated/related courses. The book is therefore primarily intended for students, to help cultivate the virtues of young people, strengthen their capital and bring them closer to prevention as science and practice. In addition to students, it is also intended for professionals, practitioners and theoreticians who take care of children and young people. Different problems of children and young people, risky behaviors and the challenges that today's society brings them, as well as the growing concern of the public, place before the various invited experts the obligation to raise the level of understanding of the prevention of behavioral disorders in children and young people. Guided by this idea, on the basis of her scientific expertise and many years of work, the author elaborated the contemporary theoretical, scientific and practical aspects of prevention. Since there are, unfortunately, no or not enough written texts on this topic in Croatia, this is the first comprehensive textbook-type book in the field of prevention science in our language. Her task is to help sensitize and empower the professional public with education and to pave the way for the strategic development of prevention at the national, regional and local levels in our country, which is a serious step towards the well-being of children and young people and society as a whole.
