Summary
August Musić: An Outline of Greek and Roman Antiquities
A forgotten and almost completely unknown book with an overview of basic information about the daily, public and private life of the ancient Greeks and Romans.
August Musić (1856-1938), one of the most important Croatian Grecists, is the author of the Grammar of the Greek Language (1887), which is still widely used today, and the two-volume History of Greek Literature (1893-1900). He is also the author of several important books on the syntactic structure of the Croatian and Greek languages.
The book on Greek and Roman antiquities was created as a textbook for classical high schools, but even today it is an indispensable university handbook for students of classical philology, history and archeology ever since its first publication in 1910. Finally, Draft of Greek and Roman Antiquities is the only handbook in this field written in the Croatian language.
Editor Darko Novaković prepared this reprint according to the 1942 edition, which is significantly enriched with illustrations.
