Summary
Rudolf Barišić: Bosnian Ugri
Institutional history of Franciscan schooling 1785-1849
The dissertation that gave rise to this book was created as part of the project "Literary and Linguistic Latinism in the Franciscan Heritage". Refined and reworked, this extensive text contains a description of the process of education of the clerics of Bosnia Srebrena at schools in the Hungarian half of the Habsburg Monarchy in the period from 1785 to the end of the 1840s. At that time, clerics had to study outside their home province due to the insecurity of the entire area of Bosnia and Herzegovina, which was under pressure from the local Ottoman bureaucracy throughout the 18th century. The collected data were systematized in the Catalog of clerics educated in the Habsburg Monarchy by years and districts and by host monasteries. For better visibility, the data are also presented in tables and graphs.
