During the Homeland War, Plevnik worked as a journalist in the Osijek TV studio, recording numerous reports from Osijek, Vukovar and other places in Slavonia and Baranja. As he said, his war reports from 1991 and 1992 are woven into the book 'Crveni fićo'.
