Matteo Zamagna: La Storia di Ragusa
Matteo Zamagna (1780-1870) - Historian and scientist. Born in Ragusa, he later moved to Venice, where he served as an adviser to the Imperial-Royal Austrian government. Honorary member of the Ateneum in Veneto, in 1837 he held an academic lecture entitled "Memory of the Military Expeditions of Dalmatia". In 1865, he published "History of Ragusa" in Split, a work that achieved considerable success in Italy, so much so that it was reprinted in Trieste in 1935.
