Gyula Krudy: N. N.: a novel about a child of love
N. N.: A novel about a child's love is a deeply introspective novel about youth, human maturation and the transformation of a Hungarian village at the turn of the century. The unknown hero narrates his adventures, growing up with his grandmother and a young maid who will give birth to his illegitimate son, then escaping to Budapest among the more advanced world and finally returning to the countryside.
Gyula Krudy is a Hungarian writer who gained fame during the First World War, and until the forties of the last century he fell into oblivion, from which Sandor Marai took him out. Although he died poor at the time, today he is considered a classic of Hungarian literature.
