Ivan Luka Garanjin (Trogir, March 5, 1764 - Trogir, March 2, 1841), Croatian economic expert, cultural worker, businessman and archaeologist. From the Croatian noble family of Garagnin.
Improved agriculture, livestock and animal husbandry in Dalmatia. Had a lapidary. Founded a private botanical garden, on an exemplary property near Trogir. He performed scientific experiments there. One of the most respected physiocrats in Croatia. In 1806, he wrote the work "Riflessioni economico - politiche sopra la Dalmazia" (Economic-political thoughts in Dalmatia), where he presented the economic (dis)opportunities in Dalmatia and suggested how to reform. he made proposals for the reform of conditions in Dalmatia with a critical account of the situation at that time. Co-founder of the Katštelan-Trogir economic academy. Also active in the archaeological field. Bought archeological objects from Solin, was the first to systematically excavate the Salona and discovered the foundations and part of the amphitheater. Contributed to the Garanjin-Fanfogna family library in Trogir.
The book is very well preserved, the spine and binding are new.
