Summary
Franjo Gregurić: The Government of Democratic Unity: the truth about Vukovar and the school of democracy in Croatia
*Dedication
Nine years after the first book on the Government of Democratic Unity, Franjo Gregurić prepared a new edition, in terms of concept and content, in which the focus was focused in more detail on key events woven into the process of gaining international recognition for the Republic of Croatia. Gregurić has written a new political success book in which the reader's attention is drawn to the creation of the defense forces of the Republic of Croatia, the processing of the war events in Vukovar and the meaning of the Vukovar epic in the context of the creation and defense of the Croatian state, the process of disassociation of the Republic of Croatia from the SFRY, international recognition of the Republic of Croatia and admission to the United Nations. The most important part of the book is dedicated to the Vukovar epic, which is authentically spoken about (some of them for the first time): General Antun Tus, Marin Vidić Bili, Vesna Bosanac, Branko Borković – Mladi Jastreb, Danijel Rehak and Zoran Šangut.
Gregurić wrote the book with the intention of answering many questions, ambiguities and doubts. The outcome is a work that will become indispensable literature for all those who think and believe that they shape the destiny of the nation and the state - politicians, but also all thinking people who can truly influence their present and future lives of their children, as well as the country in which, according to the author's words in the foreword of the book, we will live and die without bitterness, hatred or fear.
