The book provides a very detailed insight into the systematics, cultivars and cultivation and care of lilacs in several chapters. The first part contains an overview of the family Oleaceae, the genus and taxa of the genus Syringa to which the lilac belongs, the second part refers to the colors of the lilac and a description of some of its cultivars, and the last part describes the types of lilac propagation, the specifics of planting, pruning, hybridization and dealing with diseases and pests, as well as keeping flower arrangements fresh as long as possible. The book contains a glossary and an index of names and terms.
