Summary
Ivan Nastović: Laza Kostić's Anima
Thirty-two dreams of Laza Kostić, recorded in his famous diary, were for the first time in depth and psychologically interpreted in the book Laza Kostić's Anima (Promethej, Novi Sad, 2004, 248 pages), after almost a century since they were dreamed, which revealed their true and full meaning. The interpretation of Laza Kostić's thirty-two dreams led the author to refer to the poet's Anime, which is of central importance for understanding Kostić's complex personality and the specific relationship he had with Lenko Dunđerski, but also with his wife, Julijana Palanačka. It turned out that the interpretation of Laza Kostić's dreams is also important for understanding his work, especially the song "Santa Maria della Salute", which is an archetypal song par excellence, which is why it is subjected to a Jungian, in-depth psychological analysis in this monograph. Dreams interpreted in this way, as well as watching Laza Kostić's Anime, proved to be particularly important for understanding his personality and works, and especially his love for Lenka Dunđerska and Juliana Palanačka, the two most important women in his life.
