Summary

Daoism

Tales of the inner meaning of Lie Zi, Chuang Tzu, Zhuang Zi, Sayings of Ancestor Lu

The collection of Daoist texts contains Tales of the Inner Meaning, texts of Lie Zi, Chuang Tzu, the classic work of Zhuang Zi, and Sayings of Ancestor Lu. The first of the texts are narratives with a hidden, inner meaning in which the surface layer adheres to reality, while the bulk of the plot relies on the world beyond the everyday. Of the three founders of Daoism - the least historical information is known about Lie Zi, he is credited with one of the fundamental works of Daoist literature - The Classic Work on Perfect Emptiness. The Zuang Zi is a classic Daoist work by a legendary author from the 4th century, in which the Daoist concept of the all-encompassing, omnipresent and transcendent principle of Dao is presented. Chuang Tzu is a historical figure (4th century BC). Using special humor, anecdotes, dialogues and mythical allusions, he brings the principles of the Way closer to man's obsessive search for the metaphysical. Lu Yen, a Daoist thinker, also known as Ancestor Lu, combines Confucianism and Buddhism with classical religious and alchemical Daoism in his texts.
