Summary
Milivoj Solar: The limits of the science of literature
Selected essays
A selection of 16 literary-scientific essays in which the author deals with the sense, meaning, and limits of literary phenomena, which were written over a period of thirty years. Some of the texts belong to the beginnings of Solar's theoretical-literary reflections and are well known to every literary scholar (The Death of Sancho Panza, The Truth of Literature, Philosophy and the Novel, Novel and Mythology...), and some of them were created in the last few years and are now published for the first time in the cover of the book (Postmodernism and Myth, From Emma Bovary to Emma Zunz, The Horizon and Purpose of the Philosophy of Literature...). At the beginning, there is an extensive introduction under the title The limits of the science of literature, which the author himself describes as "an overview of my experiments"
