Libar glagoljaša don Antona od Silbe

Sambunjak Slavomir

Summary

Slavomir Sambunjak: The Libar of the Glagolitic Don Anton of Silba

Don Anton Garofal Bakalar questions our established understandings with his Book in at least three cases: 1. Evidence for the court that it is possible to express more demanding, abstract and precise thoughts in the Croatian language was sought among the Latin Štokavian theological works: thus Antun Kadčić published in Bologna in 1729 Theological theology is divided, and the Bosnian bishop Marko Dobretic in Ancona in 1782. A short compilation of the moral Hiti moral theology, and already F. M. Appendini emphasized the ability of the Croatian language to deal with difficult topics. And Garofal's student manual of moral theology was written in 1726 in Glagolitic and Chakavian! 2. When Croatian literary science was writing about the Grail, it was considered quite natural that this mystical theme belonged exclusively to Western European late medieval literature and that Croatian and Slavic medieval Cyrilo-Method tradition had nothing in common with this most famous relic of the Christian world. However, one Žakan Glagolitic scholar is already trying to disclose the truth that the Grail is always visible and accessible to everyone: both at the mass during transubstantiation and in books that problematize the Eucharist, whether it is only scholastic and theological, but he writes about this in accordance with the belief that the Truth is hidden in the depths and covered with symbols. 3. The usual writing about the meaning of the sacrament of the Eucharist, or about the unattainability of heavenly light, heavenly glory, is actually, therefore, writing about St. To the Grail and its light. And don Anton Bakalar Garofal did not say it directly - he makes this almost her(m)ethical cognitive innovation known in an indirect and demanding way: with drawings instead of words, etymology of names, symbolism of sounds, Glagolitic ideograms and graphostyles, permeating into an indistinguishable unity the artistic expression with the linguistic one.
