Summary
Martin Heidegger: Explanations on Holderlin's poetry
The unchanged text with the author's marginal remarks from personal copies published by Friedrich-Wilhelm von Herrmann
The book contains texts, most of which were written as a speech or lecture, some of which were held several times on various, mostly festive, anniversary occasions, ranging from 1936 to 1968. In the preface, the author removes the possibility that the texts would be a contribution to "literary-historical research and aesthetics. They arise from the necessity of thinking", and considers his explanations as an act of interpretation "a conversation of one opinion with one singing".
