The book is the chronological second volume (after "Prehistory") in a series of syntheses of the history of art in Croatia, the publication of which is the result of the collaboration between the Ljevak Publishing House and the Institute for the History of Art.

Nenad Cambi is a distinguished Croatian archaeologist with an international reputation, and this book of his is the first complete presentation of ancient artistic creation on Croatian soil. The author systematically, with a sure hand, writes about the traces and influences of Greek, Roman, late antique and early Christian civilizations in us and realistically places the values of Croatian ancient heritage in the world context.

The richly illustrated edition of "Antique" (250 b/w duplex photos and drawings, and 240 color) is divided into four parts: Greek civilization, Roman civilization, Late antique and Christian civilization and End of Antiquity ... and completed a chronological table of the most important events, an extensive bibliography, a glossary, an index of terms and things, an index of personal names, peoples, tribes and geographical terms and a summary in English.
