Summary
Vera Marsić, Petar Selem, Zvonko Maković: Božidar Rašica
Architecture - scenography - painting - pedagogical and scientific work
Božidar Rašica (1912 - 1992), architect, scenographer and painter, on the one hand, and university professor, mentor and scientist, on the other. What is he best known for? For his design work (combining Rijeka and Sušak into one city at the beginning of his career, the pavilions of the Zagreb Fair, the renovation of the Croatian National Theater in Split, weekend houses in Zagreb, villas in Switzerland, Zagreb schools, etc.), for the 57 scenographies he created for theater performances abroad, or for his painting oeuvre exhibited at 15 solo and numerous group exhibitions. Vera Marsić, Petar Selem and Zvonko Maković offer answers to these questions by writing about the versatile artist who marked the Croatian art of the 20th century. In the monograph, many of Rašić's architectural plans and sketches that preceded them, photos of scenographic solutions on stage and the sketches from which they were created, as well as a substantial selection from his painting oeuvre were published.
