During the Spanish Civil War, he fought in the International Brigades, and his experience was reflected in two cycles of drawings. The current portfolio is the result of his participation with the partisans during World War II, and his work won the Yugoslav Federation Award for Graphics in the year of publication. The drawings show troops at rest, in motion and in battle; It should be noted the attention given to the role of women, not only in caring for the wounded, but also in their own active participation on the front lines.
