Summary
Og Mandino: The World's Greatest Salesman
In times of economic crisis, self-help advice gains even more weight. Og Mandino is one of the most widely read authors of inspirational guides and self-help books with over 25 million copies sold, especially contributed by this story of a small camel groomer, Hafid, who becomes the biggest trader in the world by following the principles of ten special scrolls of success. In the story of Hafid who tries (and eventually succeeds) to become the biggest trader in the world, Og Mandino reveals simple but very effective principles from the "ten ancient scrolls" that helped the protagonist on the way to the desired goal. In 1988, two decades after the publication of the original version of The Greatest Salesman in the World, Mandino expanded the book with 19 more chapters titled The End of the Story. Describing the last days of Hafid and his search for the man who will inherit the chest with ten scrolls, he sought to build on his already very popular work (inspired by the literature he read) and share with readers his own experiences and insights summarized in the Ten Vows for Success. It should be noted that neither the first nor the second part, which are now in one book, represent not only a stimulating (and somewhat autobiographical) story interwoven with strong thoughts - they are also a valuable practical manual that describes the ways of their adoption and application. The fact that the author himself went from being an unsuccessful life insurance salesman and alcoholic to the editor of a respected magazine, and then the writer of numerous world bestsellers, speaks in favor of the effectiveness of the methods and the legality he talks about.
