Summary
Leopoldo Alas: The Lord and Other Short Stories
A book consisting of thirteen short stories by the Spanish master of short prose and 19th century critic, many of which were previously published in magazines and newspapers, and in this book they are arranged in the order in which the author himself originally arranged them. All stories from the book represent the author who is turned to spirituality, the spiritual world. In this sense, the characters from his stories are often connected to some form of religiosity themselves: in the story "The Lord" the main character is a priest who helps a woman in agony, while in the story "The Golden Rose" the pope rewards a virtuous woman. The book contains an overview of Alas' short stories and their bibliography.
