Summary
William Shakespeare: Macbeth
The brave Scottish general Macbeth receives a prophecy from three witches that he will one day become king of Scotland. Ambitious and encouraged by his wife, Macbeth kills King Duncan and takes the Scottish throne. After the murder, he is full of guilt and paranoia. He is forced to commit more and more murders to protect himself from enemies and suspicion, and soon becomes a tyrannical ruler. Bloodshed and civil war will soon lead Macbeth and Lady Macbeth into the realm of madness and death.
