The story follows the growth of the main character Siniša Ančić, called Frula, from the age of ten, at the beginning of the sixties of the last century, until he went to study in Zagreb. Along with Siniša, there are other members of his quite average family at the time - father Branko, mother Nevenka, sister Biba, uncle Emil, and best friends Zumzo and Kompa. Through few descriptions and skilful dialogues, the author has broken down a rich network of mutual dialogues. The novel was created in parallel with the film script for the film of the same name directed by the author's sister Snježana Tribuson.
