Summary
Maryam Mafi, Azima Melita Kolin: Rumi's Little Book of Life
The rapture that quietly pervades much of Rumi's poetry captures our imagination and ushers us into the inner sanctum of his passionate and joyful spirituality. Rumi's God is not in a mosque, monastery or temple, but resides in the home of rapture, in the lush garden of light, where the steps of love lead to the divine. Rumi's God is not there to punish, but to love and save the soul, heart and spirit. The only "justice" that Rumi advocates is for the mirror of the heart to be polished to a shine, and the only "injustice" that he forbids is for love to be conditional.
