IVAKIĆ, Vladoje (Ika), writer and folklorist (Slakovci near Vinkovci, 30 October 1880 - Bačka Palanka, 9 October 1959). Graduated from the Male Teacher's School in Osijek in 1899. Teacher in Posavski Podgajci, Orolik, Rezovac, Babina Greda, Gašinci and Tomašanci and in the penitentiary in Srijemska Mitrovica, then teacher, primary school principal, school supervisor and county education officer in Osijek. Retired in 1940. In the booklet Croats in Serbia (co-authored by R.F. Magjer) he described a school trip from Đakovo to Belgrade. He is better known for Šokadija in painting, song and prose, in which, under the influence of his cousin J. Ivakić, he advocates the preservation of folk customs, costumes, culture and art. The work contains love lyrics, beats and jumps. He published poems, cartoons, feuilletons, novellas and articles about Slavonian military history, education and hunting in the periodicals Bršljan (1901–03), Smilje (1902–03), Sriemske novine (1902–04, 1914–15), Karlovački glasnik (1903), Lovačko-ribarski viestnik (1903–05), Napredak (1903), Svjetlost (1910–11), Novosti (1914), Obzor (1915–17), Virovitica County Gazette (1917–18, 1923; Journal of Education and Administration, 1930), Unity (1923–24), National Education (Belgrade 1923, 1930), Movement (1923), Reč (Belgrade 1924), Jug (1925), Brotherhood (1933) and the calendars Zastava (1940) and Gajdaš (1941–42), which he edited. In narrative prose, he presents shocking themes with erotic and lascivious motifs. His handwritten legacy contains memories of I. Kozarac, J. Kosor and J. Ivakić. He collected and published original material about Vojna Krajina and M.A. Relković. He donated his collection of handicraft heritage items and the memoir manuscripts Pigkeepers and Coal miners in the Slavonian oak forests to the Ethnographic Department of the Osijek Museum of Slavonia. He signed himself with the pseudonyms Ika, Čika Ika from Orolik and the code Vladoje Iv-ić
