Ahmatova Anna

Summary

Anna Akhmatova: Three Autumns

The cross-section of the Russian poet's poetic oeuvre includes the collections "Evening", 1912; "Rosaries", 1915; "White Flock", 1917; "Plant", 1921, "Anno Domini", 1922, poems of a patriotic character written for the Second World War, her life's work - "Poem without heroes", the poem "Requiem" in which she expresses the burden of the sufferings of her contemporaries, as well as her own... Faithful to the principles of Acmeism, her poetry celebrates the return of the concreteness of experience, the clarity of the poetic world and the preservation of cultural tradition. The opus, the size of which exceeds the boundaries of Russian national culture and is dominated by the poet's authentic voice of true poetry and strong poetic personality, is completed with an autobiographical record (1965) and memories of literary predecessors - Pushkin and Lermontov, as well as contemporaries - Blok, Mandeljštám and Modigliani, whose portrait of the poet adorns the cover of this visually attractive editions.
