Summary
Nedžad Ibrišimović: Ugursuz
The novel Ugursuz by Nedžad Ibrišimović is considered by literary critics to be among the best novels of Bosniak and Bosnian literature, and - in literary and aesthetic terms - they consider it the best novel of this author. The novel tells the story of the suffering and downfall of the old feudal Abazović family, in the 19th century, in Bosnia under Ottoman rule. The main character Muzafer, a mentally unbalanced person, through whose perspective the reader follows the story, is a mute observer of events on the Herdekovac estate. The plot deals with internal conflicts and love relationships in the family, which ultimately lead to its disintegration. This novel, structurally and formatively fully rounded, with no narrative gaps, has everything that is needed for every superb literary work - a good and interesting story told masterfully.
