In addition to being an album of perfectly profiled portraits, a picture of human drama and a fresco of a historical period, "Omerpaša Latas" is a deep and ironically intoned reflection on the artist, his model and work. Although he did not finish the work as a novel, Andrić finished it as a novel idea.
