Summary
Andre Malraux: Human Life
Human Life is a novel by the French writer Andre Malraux published in 1933. The novel is about the failed communist revolution in Shanghai in 1927 and the existential questions that plague the various characters involved in the events. The characters are of different origins, personalities and beliefs, and through their destinies the author deals with the themes of the meaning of life, ways of dying meaningfully, interpersonal relationships and dignity. Social issues were also emphasized; although Malraux does not visibly side with any of the conflicting sides, most of the characters are communists or are affiliated with them.
