This is the first in a series of books in which the authors try to present the teaching content of the mathematics courses at the University of Information Technology. Their goal was to do it in a way that would enable the student to have a good understanding of the basic ideas and concepts, the adoption of basic procedures and the development of a feeling for the application of the acquired knowledge. The last chapter of the book consists of exercises in Metlab that follow the mentioned units. The teaching content of the first book includes elementary algebra, linear algebra and elementary functions.
