Summary
Albert Hofmann: LSD - my problem child
Dr. With his autobiographical narration, Albert Hoffman breaks all existing prejudices about his creation LSD and similar substances that were used in other times and civilizations. Moreover, even he could not remain immune to the beneficial effects of LSD (which was isolated from the stalk of rye), so he inevitably stepped from the sphere of cold scientific evaluation of the world and man into the sphere of philosophy and religion:
"I share the opinion of many of my contemporaries that the spiritual crisis, which prevails in all spheres of Western highly industrialized life, can only be cured by changing our view of the world." We will have to replace the materialistic and dualistic understanding, according to which people and their environment are separate entities, with a new awareness of an all-encompassing reality (which includes the ego itself that experiences something), a reality in which people feel that they are a whole with living nature and all that is created.
