Šegedin Petar

Summary

Petar Šegedin, Ozren Žunec: Philosophizing and the sea

On this side of infinity

The book is a collection of papers from a scientific conference, which was held in Orebić from October 4 to 7, 2007 under the name Philosophizing and the sea. Of the ten presentations submitted at the meeting, seven of them are included in the proceedings. The thematic and scientific-methodological diversity of the texts, in which the sea is viewed from the point of view of Greek mythology (Ljubimir), Plato's philosophizing (Mikecin, Žunec), comparative literature and cultural theory (Grgas, Larsen), historical-philosophical categories, speculative geography and Hoelderlin's thought-poetry (Barbarić) and Nietzsche's reflections (Šegedin), at the same time only confirms the inappropriateness of any one-sided approach to this so alive phenomenon.
