Lamija Hadžiosmanović: Libraries in Bosnia and Herzegovina 1878-1918. Lamija Hadžiosmanović was born on December 4, 1931 in Sarajevo. After completing the Study of Oriental Languages with History at the Faculty of Philosophy in Sarajevo in 1957, she obtained her Master's degree in 1966 at Ayni Šems University in Cairo. Doctoral dissertation entitled Libraries in Bosnia and Herzegovina during the Austro-Hungarian administration 1878-1918. she defended her degree at the Faculty of Philosophy in Sarajevo in 1977. She spent her entire working life at the Faculty of Philosophy, passing the selection procedure for all university titles, from assistant to full professor. For a time at this faculty, she worked as a librarian at the Department of Oriental Philology. After retirement, she was elected professor emeritus.
