Chronicle of Mula Mustafa Ševka Bašeskija is one of the most important historical sources for studying the social, political and everyday history of Sarajevo and Bosnia in the second half of the 18th century. Bašeskija records events from the perspective of his contemporaries, creating a valuable testimony of urban life in Ottoman Sarajevo. His style is direct and documentary, and his records are imbued with personal observations and moral comments.
