International Scientific Meeting of Historians (Gacko, 19-21 September 2013)
Commemorating the hundredth anniversary of the Sarajevo Assassination and the beginning of the First World War, and within the framework of the traditional Ćorović Meetings, the Scientific Meeting of Historians is on the topic "Sarajevo Assassination 1914" collected 29 works of eminent domestic and international historians, historians of literature, linguists, etc., which are published for the first time in this collection. The works are divided according to the chronological-thematic principle, so after works of a general nature whose content has no direct contact with "Young Bosnia" and the Sarajevo assassination, and deal with looking at the in-depth processes that preceded those events, giving a broader picture of historical events, there follow texts that deal with "Young Bosnia" in any way and observe this phenomenon from different angles and, finally, those that are dedicated to the assassination itself, offering a perspective observations in comparison with many other significant phenomena, inextricably linked to the assassination. The last part consists of works that deal with the echoes of the assassination in certain European countries, its consequences in the form of the Austro-Hungarian pogrom against Serbian intellectuals and people in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the memories of the Sarajevo conspirators, literature about them and the presence of the assassination in recent historiographical, literary, film and theater productions...
