The book HIROSHIMA, the reportage masterpiece of journalism legend John Hersey, is being published on the occasion of the seventieth anniversary of the first American edition. The reportage was published in its entirety in The New Yorker on August 31, 1946, which is a unique case in the magazine's history. Hersey's devastating report of mass destruction reverberated across the planet. Only Albert Einstein bought a thousand copies of the New Yorker so that he could share the story of the shocking truth with his friends. HIROŠIMA was first published in the Croatian translation in 1952 by the Society of Journalists of the Republic of Croatia, and the new edition translated by Ljudevit Stantić is presented by Sandorf and the Croatian Journalists' Society.
