Summary
René Guénon: King of the World
One of the dominant ideas in René Guénon's oeuvre is the unique source of religious ideas of mankind, from which the great orthodox currents originated, which marked the spiritual life of people and represent the foundations of all civilizations. This primordial tradition, Guénon points out, as a manifestation of the "will of heaven" in our world, is completely preserved in a spiritual "center" untouched by cyclical influences. That "supreme center" which is traditionally called Hyperborean and "polar", but a place unknown to this day (Agarta mentioned by Saint-Yves d'Alveydre and F. Ossendowski, analyzing the origin of Hindus and Mongols), is the home of Guénon's "King of the World" (Manu from Hindu lore).
Guénon presents a theory about the mutual spiritual influences of civilizations and their metaphysical mediators, paying special attention to the biblical passages about Abraham and Melchizedek, and the birth of Christ in the context of the ancient Grail legend.
