Summary

Stanko Jambrek: Christianity and new age spirituality: similarities and contrasts

The author was inspired to write this book by the spiritual condition of Christians in Croatia. During the writing of the book, the author used parts of the text from his book "New Age and Christianity" from 1998. Most of the texts have been expanded and supplemented with new research. In the first part of the book, based on his own experience, the author points to man's search for the satisfaction of basic human needs. This search usually leads a person towards Christian or New Age spirituality. Therefore, at the very beginning, he defines the terms - biblical Christianity and the new age movement. The second part presents the spiritual history and fundamental beliefs of New Age spirituality. The central part of the book focuses on the insurmountable differences and contrasts between biblical Christianity and new age spirituality. In the fifth part, there are testimonies of people who, each in their own way, were involved in the new age movement, who were freed by God and now live a Christian life in a living relationship with God. In the sixth part, there is a short overview of Christian teaching and the teaching of new age spirituality, as well as a dictionary of lesser-known words.
