Ivan Antunović: The Mystery of Christ's Church: In the Light of Revelation, Tradition and Church Teaching
The book The Mystery of Christ's Church was created as a result of lectures over a period of ten years, based on various authors from various dialects consulted by the author Dr. Ivan Antunović.
The book deals with the doctrine of the Church in two parts. The first part emphasizes the historical development of the treatise on the Church. P. Antunović does this by looking first at the Old Testament, then at the New Testament, at the patristic period, through the time of the Council of Trent, and finally, through the period of post-conciliar ecclesiology. In this first part, the Church in its historical reality is more expressed. The second part emphasizes the so-called systematic ecclesiology. It emphasizes the mysterious and sacramental nature of Christ's Spouse. In other words, it means that the Church is not of this world, although it works in it. It was given by God to the world so that there would be light in it that comes from God. The following words of the author himself speak about the intention with which the book was written, as well as the circle of readers to whom it was given for enrichment: "Although in our language there are manuals that deal with material related to ecclesiological issues, while I was teaching the subject about the Church, I concluded that this view of its mystery could also benefit students who deal with this issue during their theological training, as well as other people who would like to deepen their knowledge about it."
