Dante in Slavic literary criticism of the 20th century
Literary criticism reception of Dante's work in the 20th century cannot and should not be observed separately. It has its long genesis, just as the interweaving of the Western European world with the Slavic world has its long history. Therefore, it was necessary for this book to begin with the history of the reception of Dante in the Slavic countries, as concisely as possible and as precisely as the sources allowed. This is especially important when it comes to the 19th century, because many spiritual processes, and with them some aspects of dantology, were carried over into the 20th century. It is also important because it outlines the general picture of the relationship of Slavic cultures to the West, a relationship that largely determined the fate of Dante's work in this part of the world. . .
