Pilsel Drago

Summary

Drago Pilsel: What do we who believe in God believe

Seven years after the publication of the intriguing work What do we who do not believe in God believe, Drago Pilsel collected the testimonies of believers, which were gathered in a new collection What do we believe who believe in God. Driven by the thought that it is not possible to think of Croatian society, as well as the societies around it, without evaluating its religious component, Pilsel asked thirty-seven members of different confessions to write their intimate attitude towards religion, that is, what faith in God means to them.

As a motive for collecting the testimonies of religious intellectuals, Pilsel points out that the right to freedom of thought, conscience and religion is guaranteed by the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, that is, that all people must have the right to freedom of choice worldview. Religious freedom is a basic common good, but at the same time one must not turn a blind eye to fundamentalism and religious fanaticism, but it is also necessary to resist all forms of hostility against religion that limit the public role of believers in civil and political life, concludes Pilsel.

Testimonies were written by: Ernada Fatima Avdibegović, Jacqueline Bat, Boris Beck, Tomislav Birtić, Jadranka Brnčić, Drago Cmuk, Jasminka Domaš, Davor Džalto, Aziz ef. Hasanović, Jelena Jorgacevic Kisić, Denis Jurić, Enes Karić, Franjo Komarica, Nikodim Kosović, Dalibor Kraljik, Alen Kristić, Katarina Kruhonja, Peter Kuzmič, Aleksandar Miljković, Dragutin Matak, Mirjana Nazor, Marino Ninčević, Stanko Perica, Drago Pilsel, Miroslav Radić, Ana Raffai, Otto Raffai, Sandra Šimunić, Slobodan Šoja, Ivana Šojat, Tomislav Šola, Franjo Topić, Dafne Vidanec, Aneta Vladimirov, Marko Vučetić, Hazim Yahya, Ante Žderić.

Instead of an afterword, the book ends with the author's dialogue with Jesus, in which he lists some of the main questions faced by the contemporary church and believers.
