Rječnik bračkih čakavskih govora (2.dop. i popr.izd.)

Šimunović Petar

Summary

Petar Šimunović: Dictionary of the Brač Čakavian dialects (2nd supplement and revised ed.)

The first edition of the Dictionary, printed in 2006, was well received and very well evaluated by scientific and professional critics. This edition is partly expanded and corrected. In "Selected Works" the author presents it again to the Brac, Croatian and Slavic and generally Slavic public as a lasting and to this day the greatest monument of the Chakavian lexicon.
It is a pleasant duty for me to gratefully remember the collaborators on the first edition, first and foremost the publisher Matko Alaburić and his company Brevijar, which created the graphic work of this work. My thanks go to prof. Ph.D. Miri Menac-Mihalić, editors of the first edition, to: Katarini Drpić (Pučišća), Ph.D. Lucija Puljak (Pućišća), prof. Nevi Kežić (Selca), prof. Ph.D. Miri Menac-Mihalić (Milna) and the late Jakov Bačić; consultants: acad. Antici Menac and the deceased: Acad. Božidar Finka and Acad. Ranko Marinković, and my dear collaborators on graphic preparation: Mrs. Marija Tudor, designer Boris Ljubičić, technical editor Josip Strmečka, and finally the entire Publishing Board.
I am happy that in the last hour I rescued from oblivion this valuable lexicon from the edge of Slavia and Romania, which was recognized by my efforts in dozens of casual and scientific evaluations of our respected experts.
I would like this second revised edition to find its way as well the way to admirers of our lexical heritage, especially among young schoolchildren, in whom the speech and world of their ancestors fades, and to our emigrants, some of whom were lucky enough to get acquainted with the reading of their childhood.
Thanks to the distinguished publisher Golden marketing-Technical book from Zagreb, who readily and skillfully realized this demanding publishing venture.
