Parčić Dragutin Antun

Summary

Dragutin (Carlo) Parčić: Dictionary Slovenian - Italian / Vocabolario Slavo - Italiano

Dragutin Antun Parčić (Vrbnik na Krk, May 26, 1832 - Rome, December 25, 1902), Croatian philologist.

He was a professor in Zadar and a canon of the Croatian Institute of St. Jerome in Rome. He wrote the grammar of the Croatian language in Italian Grammatica della lingua slava (Illirica), compiled the Croatian-Italian Dictionary (Vocabolario croato-italiano) and the Italian-Slovenian Dictionary (Croatian). He prepared a new edition of the Croatian-Glagolic missal and a primer for reading Glagolitic letters with the basics of Old Slavic grammar. Until the middle of the 20th century, this dictionary was the best Croatian-Italian dictionary and the main work for everyone who wanted to get to know the Italian language.
